Clydoch By Kimberley Kraft

I love a good short story, and this one’s about a haunted house.

Kirstie’s grandad passed away, and she inherits a property that’s been empty for years. It just needs some renovations, and Kirstie hopes she’ll be opening the manor’s doors soon to welcome guests. After all, there are 25 rooms!

But things aren’t as easy as she thinks. No contractor wants to set foot in the house, and it doesn’t take long for Kirstie to find out why.

Okay… I know there are loads of books with the same premise, but this story delivers a stubborn and fearless main character, a real sense of dread, and scenes that’ll make you squirm.

All this in just 43 pages!

Did I wish the book was longer? Yes!

Did it leave me unsatisfied? Heck no!

Clydoch is Kimberley’s debut, and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!

…And if you want to find out what happens in this manor, the book’s available on KU — be their guest!
